I' verym happy to be again with you. And today we will talk a little bit about what does it mean to chant with Shraddha I
explained in our previous conversation with you that Bhaktivinoda Thakura wrote his last book, Bhajana Rahasya, to share with us his own secrets of bhajan.
Bhajan is a difficult thing because uh it requires the internal involvement. Uh and we being external uh I used to engage ourselves externally. And there we put a very single wall here from wool or cast a man shame.
And therefore, very often when we start chanting or doing some sort of worship, bhajan, we rely on the externals of this process, paranur.
And that basically means mechanical practice of Krishna consciousness or of devotional service where we are kind of imitating the externals without being involved internally.
Nama-aparadha either on the mechanical japa, apparent, ida inapantana, Nama, Japa, Mantram solate Namon copy everyone.
We all know how it works, you know our lips are moving, our fingers are moving but our heart is somewhere else. It's not in this process. We are not in this situation is not uh not in the bhajan so to speak.
Limitations of mechanical japa practice
And there is nothing wrong with it in the sense that we should start somewhere, and that's a good starting point. But unfortunately, this starting point sometimes drags for many long years. Detime Maré ochre det And
we should be very clear that this mechanical process uh doesn't bring impressive results. Some results it does bring.
Bhaktivinoda Thakura says in Jaiva Dharma that at least you're not doing any sinful activities while you are moving your lips and fingers but you know that you are the same as a campaign and they are That's already at least you are not engaged in something grossly sinful.
This is already something good. But he says very interesting thing.
He says that among this, you know, why while we're doing this mechanically, every now and then because of some you know spark of good fortune, we pronounce some sort of a semblance of the holy name. Not the holy name itself, but we are pronouncing some semblance of the holy name with some sincerity in the heart. And when this happened, this actually counts as devotional service.
So maybe, you know, during these two hours of japa or one and a half hour of japa, we may have a few sparks of real bhajan.
Nama Umayana Bhawana or Nama Koda Madri Ade Madhri Semblance, Ade Maria Namata, Solina or uh uh Sulla Viper Andamari Modele, you know, Angang Then I'm about to put it up a mari, Bobana Nama sort of mother in a while.
When not only our lips and uh tongue and uh fingers are involved but also when our heart is involved. When our heart is together with the holy name. So he says that only these holy names are counted.
Even though we may have you know externally counted 16 rounds, but maybe we pronounce one, two, three real holy names during this whole period of japa.
Mali Mari Matumna canaklas it. Edo Palana Mali Panikaman may also live white clan. And therefore, our progress which involves the transformation of the heart, which implies the transformation of the heart, is very slow.
As the name Girade Matramba Nera Yridila Yrade Matra Matana Bandra and the Matra Neera Matra Neramat Rumba. And sometimes after many years of chanting like this, people say no, this process doesn't work.
No, the process works, it's just you don't do the process properly.
Involving the heart in bhajan
That's that's the Therefore, we have to do that.
Therefore, in this Bhajana-rahasya, Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura is sharing with us his own secrets of bhajan, and therefore he calls it rahasya. Rahasya means the secret, something which is hidden.
In the Bhajan-rahasya, another ragassy and pair of ragasing, And he is basically teaching us how to involve heart in the process of chanting.
And in the beginning of this book, in the introduction to this book, he makes a very beautiful, simple, but at the same time very profound point that the chanting which we are doing ideally should be done according to certain according to the level of our spiritual advancement.
Externally a pure devotee who is on the level of bhāva, prema, and the beginning bhakta, they're doing the same thing.
They're chanting the same Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare.
But the meaning of this process internally there is a gulf of difference between these two people. And therefore Śrīla Bhaktivinoda divides this process of chanting roughly on eight parts or eight stages.
To put to Madhya Lila, to the Madhya Lila and he explains, yeah, and he explains what is supposed to happen in our heart when we chant on each and every stage of this spiritual development.
Śrīla Bhaktivinoda, he notes that the Hare Krishna mantra consists of eight parts, eight pairs of the names.
Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma, Rāma, Hare, Hare. Eight pairs of the names. And uh the spiritual development has roughly eight stages.
And Śrī Śikṣāṣṭaka of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu also has eight verses.
And the day is according to the Vedic understanding of time, the day is also divided into eight parts, and each part of this day is devoted to certain sorts of activity which is different from the activities in other parts of the day.
Meditation on Krishna's daily activities
And the highest achievement on the path of bhakti – and this is absolutely the highest and unique contribution of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu into the bhakti process is to teach ultimately how to be involved with our heart throughout the day, 24 hours a day, in the activities of Krishna, which is called aṣṭakālīya-līlā. This is the highest development and the unique contribution of Gauḍīya Vaishnavas into the process of bhakti. Sorry, I just too many people. Okay.
So, Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu introduced a very unique process of meditation on Krishna.
Caitanya Mahāprabhu namakara Krishna kamala jana Maharaja or Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, you know, during the time of Chaitanya Mahāprabhu, before him and after him, the bhakti movement was very strong in India, in Bharat. And all different uh bhakti teachers they teach their method of uh how to get how to enter into the relationship with Krishna.
Ultimately everyone follows the command which Krishna gave in Bhagavad-gītā, Manmana, think about me. But uh the crux of the issue is how to think about Krishna continuously lagatar without any break.
How to uh make this meditation non-interrupted and uh to do this meditation on Krishna for twenty-four hours a day.
So Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu explained, and ācāryas who came after him elaborated on this, that ultimately to be constantly engaged into the meditation of Krishna requires understanding what Krishna is doing during these eight parts of the day.
In this way we are taking ourselves from this uh temporal world, world of the time, and placing our consciousness our soul into the eternal world of the spiritual world.
So the highest achievement in the path of bhajana is to learn ultimately how to be constantly uh engaged uh together with Krishna in his spiritual activities in the spiritual world.
But we cannot jump there immediately abruptly or whimsically. We have to really learn how to gradually gradually transfer our consciousness from this mundane reality into the spiritual reality.
Understanding genuine spiritual faith
Paripada, every poor in a motor, in a mail jarata, and we get an amount right, as every point. Anyway, so the first stage uh of the chanting where
we should all start is the chanting with śraddhā with face because that's the beginning of our spiritual development spiritual practice Mudalilai Sradda Adavana Java Vande Sradhaya Javamanara Mudalai and Shraddha
basically means very clear understanding of the logic of the Shastra. Sardhei, Abhing Rasamskadaya me and Navin Pathina. Shastra Nila, yenasolitra Usually
we think when we uh say śraddhā, when we say faith, uh we just think that this is just some sort of disposition of the mind where we believe into something and you know and we're happy that we believe.
So basically, when people say śraddhā, they mean laukika śraddhā Putua Sudden and Loki Sardinas. Usually people think that uh śraddhā faith means I believe in some tradition. I'm a follower of certain culture.
My uh forefathers were doing it and I'm doing it also because this is this is the tradition which is sacred because it has been there for a long time. Who do I should have gone?
Oh, we play Larry Mopani Pitang, I'm going to go and become a cardican. I'll put that for the butchilla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura says it's not a śraddhā, it's not face. It's just a semblance of face. It's just a shadow face.
The source, the source of real faith is Shastra, is scriptures.
And therefore, the first stage of our spiritual development is to understand according to Shastra what does it mean why we're chanting? What is the reason of our chanting?
And what are the gradual process which is supposed to take place when we're chanting.
Sudday, Umyana Sadhana Shastram Burama Namakonli, Yidaka Murai Pajama Yang Rajaman, Sort of Shastra Burma Shingle, and We have to be very clear about what is going on while we are chanting uh the reasons and uh you know the results and everything.
We have to be crystal clear and this understanding will help us to concentrate on the Holy Name. Shraddha vars like en magnifying glass.
Venju take the magnifying glass och you get the sun rays, the dissipated sun rays become concentrated, and because of this concentration of the sun rays through the magnifying glass, the sun race uh achieve a lot of power.
Nama on the Sardo Lens of Suria or Suria Catalina Lens of Kumunari, Tamikinahu, Avrika While
we were chanting this uh Hare Krishna mantra with you, I notice that you're very carefully trying to help people to concentrate on the chanting.
You know, there is this Hare Krishna mantra and while Prabhupada is chanting, then a certain line of Hare Krishna mantra is highlighted, then it goes like this and like this.
It's all devices to concentrate our mind on on this process. And uh this is good devices. But a polo in the water looked and the water looks up. But you kept the marriage But
still it's uh it's mechanical devices and uh Shradha is uh uh more powerful internal device which helps us to achieve the same result. To be very focused on the holy name while we are chanting.
But for Shradha to work, we have to study the scriptures, we have to come again and again and again to certain points, and we have to meditate on these points.
And then our chanting will be very concentrated without these mechanical devices.
So as I said the, uh, Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, he combines this Ashtakale Lila Smaranam and eight verses of Shikshashtaka with the process of the chanting.
Proper pronunciation and Sikshashtaka
And the first stage of meditation on the holy name, which is meditation with face is signified by
the first verse of Śikṣāṣṭaka. Śrīla Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati, he very interestingly uh translates uh the very name of Shikshashtaka.
Bakte no takor on the bakte si dante se rasvati. Bakti se danta se rashati. Bakte sers on the in the secret model. Usually we translate siksha means uh instructions and ashtakam means eight instructions.
So Śikṣāṣṭaka means eight instructions of Śrī Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Oh, eight. But Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati says that Shiksha also means the proper pronunciation.
We know this Vedanga, which is called Śikṣā. There is Vyakarana, there is chandas, and there is śikṣā. The first actually, Vedanga is to properly pronounce the correctly pronounced syllables of Vedic alphabet.
Samaskara the samaskar the elakana munamuna. One isha, yakarana, chandam shark. So Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati says that Śikṣāṣṭaka actually is the instructions, eight instructions of how to pronounce Hare Krishna mantra.
How to do it properly. So the first verse of Śikṣāṣṭaka, I hope everyone knows.
Ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanaṁ bhava-mahādāvāgni-nirvāpanaṁ śreyaḥ-kairava-candrikā- vitaraṇaṁ vidyā-vadhū-jīvanam ānandāmbudhi-vardhanaṁ prati-padaṁ pūrṇāmṛtāsvādanaṁ sarvātma-snapanaṁ paraṁ vijayate śrī-kṛṣṇa-saṅkīrtanam. Śrīla Prabhupāda also
explains that there are seven great results of the chanting of the Holy Name.
The main point of this verse is that paraṁ vijayate śrī-kṛṣṇa-saṅkīrtanam. Loud chanting of the holy name or the proper chanting with the holy name of Krishna with involvement of the heart can uh can bring all kind of success in our life.
Vijayate means that we become successful, we conquer over all the problems, all all the obstacles, all the suffering which uh human beings normally undergo while living in this world, And
not only Vijayate, Param Vijayate that means that you know uh every possible success we can achieve.
And Chaitanya Mahaprabhu explains that first ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanam, our heart is being cleansed. Then then bhava-mahādāvāgni-nirvāpanam, this great fire of material existence becomes less and less and less and ultimately becomes totally extinguished.
So he explains this is what is supposed to take place. The first one is Chaitadarpana Marjanam, the mirror of our heart is uh totally completely cleansed.
And the second thing is Bhava Mahadavagni Nirvapanam, the great fire of material existence is gradually gradually being extinguished completely.
And then Sriakairavachandrika Vitaranam that the lotus of our god fortune is blossoming under the moon kuging moon rays of the holy name Sreya Kayava Chandrikam Idea Tamara Bhakana Chandrikam Bhagavan Pluranda
So I will not uh go into details of this verse now. I'll just uh because it will take a lot of time, I would be happy to go into details of this beautiful verse.
But what I want to say is that in the beginning we have to at least very nicely understand that this is the path of spiritual development which is described by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in the first verse of Shikshashtakam.
In the sixth hours of the Vulamanakura and Ladilla Power for 6 hours of Mulama, Setana This verse of Shikshashtakam is actually our symbol of faith. This is what we believe in.
This is what we understand what holy name is capable of doing and is supposed to be doing, and this is the real Shraddha. The models logan Sur Day. Namakanam, I can put the potripe. He's from Tamil background.
And he said, my grandmother was teaching me how to chant Hare Krishna.
She said she was changing Hare Krishna and she was uh also when I was a little child she was saying to me betta little my grandson please chant the holy name it will you will become very successful in this material life and this and that.
So what I want to say is that there is a difference between grandmother's teaching about the chanting of the holy name and Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's teaching about the chanting of the holy name.
The grandmother definitely, you know, is conveying her understanding of this, but Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu conveys the highest understanding of the Shastra, what the Holy Name is doing in our life.
And uh the initial stage of chanting basically means again and again bring our heart and our mind back to this verse of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and to remind ourselves this is what is going on.
This is the greatest gift which I got, the Holy Name. And this is amazing good luck which I have. And that will help us to concentrate on the Holy name.
I'm a jamamanamada and then mother showed the trip three and manuspoken.
Because our mind tends to be distracted and uh instead of concentrating on the holy name, we will you know uh habitually think about all these you know things which we are supposed to do and uh that will make our chanting very ineffective inefficient, ineffective.
But if we meditate on this verse of Shikshastakum while chanting the holy name, then this verse of Sikshastakam will serve us as a reminder. This is a very important process. Please don't be distracted.
This is a very glorious process. Please bring your consciousness back into this process. All the goals which you want to achieve can and will be achieved because uh of the chanting of the holy name.
Whatever goals we have, our ultimate goal is one, we want to be happy. Everything else is not the goal, it's just a means to achieve this uh one goal which uh we all uh want to achieve happiness, bliss.
And all the color and the policy colored atom in the Sandosha. I know I don't know, Varina, Sandosha Maria Kana, Body.
Cleansing the mirror of heart
And Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu in this verse says uh how to achieve this bliss, how we can achieve this bliss just by chanting the holy name.
And he says that the first result of the chanting of the holy name is ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanam, marjanam, the cleansing of the mirror of the heart.
We have to understand that our mind, our heart, chitta um chitta, yeah, is a is a very interesting thing. There's again no time to get into it. But he says that our heart or our mind has this reflecting ability.
It reflects the world around us. But because our cheetah is not clean at this moment, the reflection of this world around us uh which we get uh is grossly distorted.
The I don't Sariawana Syria pretty called Alec Karande, Saria Pradibana for the mirror of our heart is the false ego, false identity.
This ahaṅkāra, I'm this, I'm that, I'm you know, it distorts our understanding of reality. Because of this ahaṅkāra, we don't see the reality as it is, we everywhere see the reflection of our ego.
We only see the part of reality uh which our ego allows us to see. And therefore, we don't see the most important part of reality which is God.
We see everything else uh which is uh pleasing to our ego, but we don't see God because seeing God means the death of our ahaṅkāra, of our false ego.
And the first result of the chanting of the Holy Name, when we chant with a lot of faith and concentration is that gradually, gradually we see the reality as it is and our false ego becomes less pronounced. The
false ego also means pride, I am proud. Ego means I'm the first, I am the best, everything else, and everyone else is not as good as I am.
So we can measure the cleansing process or result, cleansing result of the chanting, by seeing how our false ego is being diminished.
And how gradually, gradually we are uh starting looking uh at this world not as the field of my enjoyment or not as the field of my exploitation but as the field of my service. And then... park.
Ahaṅkāra means I am the best, I am uh the most important person in this world. citta is being cleansed, then we see the reality and we see that God is the best person in this world and I am his servant.
Per se Namada Mukion Abinda Maritona and I conjunct my edit on a Papanda Mukion. So you know what I said again, uh chanting with the face means uh and I only touched very, very little, very superficially this.
At least it means to remember this first verse of Shikshashtakam, we should ideally chant the at least first verse of Śikṣāṣṭaka before our japa. And to bring our mind back into this verse while we're chanting.
Well, automatically.
And the most importantly we should again and again remember about this first result of the chanting of the holy name that you know I'm not this body, I'm the pure spirit soul, and ultimately my nature is to serve, and the object of my service is at this particular moment of time uh the Holy name.
And then other amazing results of the holy name will be gradually revealed to us in the process of our japa. So I will stop my talking at this moment of time.
We will have a few minutes for questions, but what I want to say is that for the next few days or whatever you know whatever time period is possible.
Try to meditate on this verse and more deeply on This first result, ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanam. I am chanting because I want my heart to be clean. Sutamberg, Jamponaboding.
All my problems and all my uh suffering uh at this moment of time is because of my false identity, because I identify myself with this body and with this mind.
Namakedra Illa pra changar anam andamande Namala and Namala Tabarana Adayaka would be because
again and again and again and again I habitually try to lord over this material world, enjoy this material world, enjoy other people, exploit other people, get some benefits of myself and
I'm chanting to correct this very deeply rooted mistake in my consciousness. Now Jama Yaka Panana and I'm thirty three in the Jaravaga three uh way she pandemic on this.
And chanting of the holy name is the only means, the only process which can help me to correct this root of all my problems.
Jabam Mantra Mattuna, Java Mantra Matuna, where Indavray is very bone, very in Krayas, in the Tavarana Purita Balaakra Purita. To approach to approach this root uh cause uh to approve where putting rid of the case.
So this is the homework which we are supposed to do. We're chanting, but we are chanting with this great enthusiasm. This is the wonderful means to help me to solve all my problems.
And now I am trying to solve the first most important problem, which is false identity. Yamamada Martina Midamukimana More Model Personal Model Personal then I Taverka Pagara Adri in order Tavarana.
Unfortunately for the next few Sundays I will not be able to be with you because I will be traveling. Starting from yeah from Saturday, and I will be very busy.
And I will be in another time zones which will not allow me to be with you early mornings.
But when I come back, I can come and we can continue this journey of trying to understand what does it means to chant the holy name according to Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura's bhajana-rahasya.
And then I meet the calling to a put a name back from the Pina, but shingle the great or the connection.
For now I will stop and thank you for your attention and uh trying to uh take part in this glorious movement of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. And I like to bring Chatham out of the management,
Distinguishing true faith from sentiment
same and the yakata Burmanante. Yes, yes, yes. Uh sorry I I mean I put too much of uh noise and announcements. I'll still I'll ask.
I'm I'm going to ask for you a very uh an excellent uh day of uh explaining about chanting Maharaj but I have a very basic question uh now uh bhakti starts with chanting or to serve God with love uh understanding that we are his servants because everybody can uh at least at my age when we see God in the deity form or any form we we love and then we do a small thing wholeheartedly it is full of love but something I don't know I uh uh I I'm not satisfied with what the way I'm chanting, especially after what you said. I I don't think I can be like a lens to focus uh sunlight into a uh point.
So can you please explain ontact. The jabam under the tap up under that. No, yeah, you know the jab and allow it, and you'll have it so like they have it to work like you're into a word like term. Hmm. Okay.
So bhakti starts with faith. You asking where it starts? It starts with faith.
And when you have faith, you know, in your particular case, you have faith that God is there in his mūrti form, in his vigraha, and you can do something. That's already the beginning of bhakti.
Bhakti starts when you believe that you can actively interact with God, not waiting when you die, but even now you can already do something for God. But initially our faith is um uh
As I said, our faith initially is somewhat superstitious. It's not the faith, it's not really deeply-rooted scientific faith. It's more sentimental sort of faith which is very weak.
Yeah, it's not very stable faith and you know, you may come to the mūrti in your good mood, and you will offer, and you will feel something good. But then the next moment you will think: oh no, this is just my imagination, and uh it's not a reality, let's do something more practical.
So this sentimental faith if we want to progress in bhakti must be turned into much more solid understanding of how we, the individual soul can interact with God in his different manifestations.
And this strong faith, not sentimental faith, not emotional faith, but strong scientific, so to speak, faith, we can only get when we are reading Shastra. Or when we hear Shastra, explained by Saintly persons.
The sentimental śāstra put samatanava. And very quickly from the shastra we will understand that the greatest service which we can render to God is to chant his name.
Rāmāyaṇa is full of glorification of the holy name of Rāma. Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is full of glorification of the holy name of Kṛṣṇa, you know, the Nārāyaṇa, Ajāmila is there.
Bhagavad-gītā is saying that the greatest sacrifice is japa. And so many other things are there in the shastra. And that's basically, you know, the pillar of śāstric faith.
To understand that God is not different from His name. So bhakti starts with you doing something, but then it must also. Bhakti starts with faith.
The real faith is there in the scriptures, and the scriptures tell us that the best way to manifest our nature, our spiritual nature, is to chant the name of God.
Cultivating proper servant identity
So there is no... Can I go to the next question? Yes, sure. I'm taking from chat so that the questions are very... How to transact this world without identity of me? Okay, you... you want to translate it?
In a way, naṅgā miḷanā. We cannot act in this world without having some identity. It's absolutely correct. You're absolutely correct.
So when people say that you have to completely destroy your ego, ahaṅkāra, it's actually wrong. We don't say that we should get rid completely of our identity, me, mine. We say that we should get rid of our false identity.
The identity will remain and we will be able to uh interact with this world in a very productive way if we correct this mistake of our false identity.
We should still continue interacting and acting within this world with our identity. But our identity is different. I am not the master of this world. I am the servant. I am the servant of God who is acting in this world.
No, Namedo Polaric Modelica Poly, the Volveticina Silvia C and I bring our tour and say Aramkin. Like uh you know uh if we say great leader, leader of some country of a nation. You know, when he becomes a good leader,
he only becomes a good leader when his identity is: I'm the servant of this country. But as soon as this particular person who becomes the leader of the country
starts thinking I'm the enjoyer of this country, I want to exploit this country for my own interest, he becomes completely corrupt uh corrupt and useless.
And ultimately everyone hates him and uh ultimately you, know, they put him in prison or kill him. So i and this is true for any uh other engagement or identity which we have.
We can only act in this world properly without committing gross mistakes or doing something foolish if our identity is fixed. I'm the servant in this particular capacity.
As a mother, I am a servant, as a father, I am a servant, as a leader of the country, I am a servant, as spiritual master, I am a servant, as a disciple, I am a servant.
If this correct identity is there, then we can act in this world properly. Bodhiama Ninginimaliya tellivas and those my sari particular. Whatever will take, oh nay narodama, I'll bring it a day out of the Sariya Puritan Um
both you are putting in the Oshman sail burden. Next question, my prompt to recite Sharinam in mind while listening to classes? That's not a problem, even while listening in classes. That's okay, that's fine.
If it does not uh hinder Okay. But we definitely can change Harinam any time and uh that's not a problem. But it's not good to listen the classes while we chanting harinam. So class class not a mother in the
Java one can't class a cake. During the Java one Java. During Jappa time we should not be multitasking. But the rest of the day we can we can change the holy name and the background of our mind.
You know, if we chant properly on the forefront of our mind during Japan time, then on the back uh drop of our mind on the on the background of our mind we can chant the rest of the day.
But while chanting during japa we should be concentrated on jaba. How is how will you be spiritual border? How what? How spiritual world will be? Oh I run my bar of the table.
You must have been in Sri Rangam and Sri Rangam is called Bhuvaikunta. Siriangamande buva ingan salaporti hade. And when we go to Sri Rangam, we can feel very. you know very gut energy.
Everyone is you know, happy. Everyone is nice to each other, everyone is smiling, and the people are eager to be engaged in this In their interaction with the Lord.
And there is so much music is going on and dance is going on and the elephant, Andal elephant, is coming and Andal elephant is you know making it sound.
So it will be it's a very lively place where there is a lot of people who are singing and dancing and joyful because they're close to the Lord. That's how the spiritual world is. You can see little replica in the temples.
Spiritual world is the place of uninterrupted happiness because all the souls are very close to the source of this uninterrupted happiness which is God Krishna. Next question.
Sister has some guides chanting with seven results. But Maharaj, if three results I understood from your task, all role success, salvation of all So
uh it says uh the f four results what chatted our panama uh please repeat it again. So three results. Three results. All round success, paramvijayite. Solve all problems.
Paramijaite is a common denominator. It's not a particular result, it's just the name for all other results. Parameter can add the Laker.
But they lackly in the parameters, and the first success which we may have during the chanting of the holy name is this Chetodharpana Marjanam. That's the first uh very glorious uh result of the chanting.
And then uh gradually, gradually this fire within the heart becomes uh extinguished. And then we will continue with this. Don't worry. We will cover all these things.
But yes, two main result is to clean the mirror of the heart, and then to reduce the fire of constant desires and sufferings and which we are all in. Should I go to the next question?
Yeah, but maybe we should also wind up gradually because I have so many other things to do. Hare Krishna, Maharaj. I have a big challenge in pronouncing second line of mantra. Krishna Krishna Hare Hare.
Overcoming obstacles and understanding surrender
My tongue twists, I try to chant same line, again and again to make it correctly asking Maharaj to chant effectively. You know there are so many impediments.
This is one of the impediments in this way of chanting the you know the clumsiness of our tongue. I recognize It
will be corrected because the tongue is ultimately following the mind. If these names are very clearly and deeply established within the mind, then the tongue will follow.
I'm now studying Hindi and I'm trying to pronounce certain Hindi words
and uh my tongue doesn't really, you know, when I have to say, but if you listen long enough and if you you know think about this then ultimately the tongue will follow, don't worry about this.
Sometimes I read it first in common and second English. Tiny who both cut named park to put up. So sometimes when things go beyond our control, we leave it.
Either it is incapability or it is surrender. How to differentiate between incapability and surrender? What is a thin line differentiating it both?
Uh the thin line between uh between incapability or false surrender and the real surrender, is that I should try to do my best. I'm trying to do my best to counteract something which I feel is unwanted.
But at the same time, I'm not really programmed by the result of my endeavors. This is what Krishna explains in Bhagavad-gītā. Sorry, my game.
Krishna says in Bhagavad-gītā, you are entitled to do the work, karmaṇy evādhikāras te mā phaleṣu kadācana, but uh you are not entitled Evadikarastam Napale Sukadachana, but uh you are not entitled uh to expect certain results of your work.
diamodigan. Ah, once Śrīla Prabhupāda explained that surrender means uh to properly use your intelligence.
Surrender doesn't mean that you turn off your intelligence and you say, oh yeah, yeah, whatever Krishna wants, I you know I'm here. Surrender doesn't mean that.
Buddhyā-bheda-mayāṁ buddhim āśritya mat-karma. You try to use your intelligence to counteract the unwanted things or to do what is the needful,
