Mahapurashikaha Mahaprash the residence of the spiritual sky. Translation.

The original personality of God, the enjoyer, and Balaram, the primeval Lord Ananda, are staying in the ocean of the Yadu dynasty for the welfare, protection, and general progress of the entire universe.

Purport on Dwaraka and Vaikuntha planets

All the members of the Yadu dynasty being protected by the arms of the Lord are enjoying life like the residence of the spiritual sky. Purpose.

As we have discussed many times, the personality of God is Vishnu resides within each and every universe in two capacities, namely as Garbhodakasayī Viṣṇu, Kṣīrodakasayī Viṣṇu.

And there is a great ocean of milk where the Lord resides on the bed of Ananta, incarnation of Balarāma.

Thus Maharaja Yudhiṣṭhira has compared the Yadu dynasty to the ocean of milk and Sri Balaram to the Ananta, where Lord Krishna resides.

He has compared the citizens of Dwaraka to the liberated inhabitants of Vaikuṇṭhaloka.

Beyond the material sky, further than we can see with our eyes and beyond the seven whole sevenfold coverings of the universe there is a causal ocean in which all the universes are floating like footballs.

And beyond the causal ocean, there is an unlimited span of spiritual sky, generally known as the effulgence or Brahman. Within this effulgence, there are innumerable planets, and they are known as the Vaikuntha planets.

Each and every Vaikuṇṭha planet is many, many, many times bigger than the biggest universes in the material world. And in each of them there are innumerable inhabitants who look exactly like Lord Krishna.

These inhabitants are known as Mahāpauruṣikas, or persons directly engaged in the service of the Lord. They are happy in those planets and are without any kind of misery and they live perpetually in full usefulness,

enjoying life and full bliss and knowledge without fear of birth, death, old age and disease, and without the influence of kāla, eternal time.

Maharaja has compared the inhabitants of Dwaraka with the Mahāpauruṣikas of Vaikuṇṭhaloka, because they are so happy with the Lord.

In the Bhagavad-gītā there are so many references to Vaikuṇṭhalokas and they are mentioned there as dhāma for the kingdom of the Lord. Śrīla Prabhupāda. Mangalaya Chalokanam Kshe Mayachabaycha Aste Yadokulam

Yudhishthira apprehending Krishna's departure

So we're reading the fourteenth chapter of Srimad Bhagavatam, which is the description Of the emotional state of Maharaja Yudhishthira, who is apprehending the departure of the Supreme Lord.

In the previous chapter, Narada Muni hinted to him that very soon the Supreme Lord will leave this world.

And Maharaja Yudhishthira sent Arjuna to Dvārakā. And month after month after month, Arjuna was absent. For seven months, for seven complete months, Arjuna was absent from Hastināpura. And Maharaja Yudhishthira was in complete anxiety.

And in the meantime, he saw so many bad omens.

The description of these omens was there before in this chapter and from these omens Maharaja Yudhishthira still could deduct that something really wrong is happening in the world.

It's a part of ancient science of astrology, Jyotish, whereby omens you can see what is going on.

So many omens are listed here in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. And basically, all these omens, it's an indication that something really inauspicious is going on in the universe, in the world.

Like of course now we don't need any omens. We have internet to know that something really inauspicious is going on in the world. But Maharaja Yudhishthira still was feeling that something really bad has happened.

And the worst thing which can happen in this world is forgetfulness of the world. What is auspiciousness and what is inauspiciousness? What is good fortune and what is bad fortune? Every one of us wants happiness.

We as living entities have these deep cravings. Because we are born to be happy. Everyone wants to be happy. Am I right? Does anyone want to be miserable?

Some people they want to suffer, but that's their way to get happiness. Some perversion is there in their mind, but ultimately everyone wants to be happy.

And happiness is the state according to Srimad Bhagavatam when we are connected with God. As soon as we are disconnected with God, unhappiness, inauspiciousness comes to our life.

This is the very foundation of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Sa vai puṁsāṁ paro dharmo yato bhaktir adhokṣaje ahaituky apratihatā yayātmā suprasīdati. Ātmā the soul can only be happy if it's connected with its Atma the soul can only be happy if it's connected with its source.

Atma cannot be happy if it's not connected with the source. And we can see it. Even in this world so many examples are there that the particles of something are striving to be connected with the whole.

Like all the particles of water ultimately going where? To the ocean. Right? Because water is a part of the ocean. So no matter where the water is, it kind of has this craving to go to the ocean. Or fire.

Fire is the part of the sun, right? And therefore fire always go where? Up. You will never see fire goes down, right? Fire goes up because fire wants to be connected with the sun.

Ultimately, any heat, any energy is coming from the sun. So it wants to be reconnected with the sun.

You know, no matter what we take, you know, even uh there is a particles of dust. Particles of dust wants to go down to the earth.

So in the same way, the particles of spirit, which is ātmā. Ātmā is a tiny particle of spirit. Wants to be reconnected with the Supreme Spirit, with God.

Relationship between part and whole

Because only when the connection is there, the happiness is there. When we lose our connections, we lose our happiness because we are lost.

There is a definition, very interesting definition in Jaymani Sutras. What is particle? Parartha Shesha. Shesha or particle is something which is meant for the whole. This is the definition.

The part is always meant for the whole, and it only can be useful when it's connected with the whole. When it's disconnected with the whole, it's completely useless. If you take a pen. Pen is a good thing, right?

And pen has different parts. Take any parts of the pen and throw it away from the pen. Will it have any use? You know, you have little cap of the pen. It's a very nice thing when it's on the pen.

When it's outside of the pen, it's completely useless. Who needs it? Nobody needs it. It doesn't have any sense. So in the same way when we have our hairs, hairs are very nice, right?

But they're only nice when uh they are on the head. When the same hairs are in the soup. They're not so nice, right? Because it's it's they're disconnected with the proper position.

So the philosophy of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is very important to understand. Philosophy of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam states with this you want happiness. Right? Everyone wants happiness.

Happiness means sa vai puṁsāṁ paro dharmo yato bhaktir adhokṣaje. our highest dharma, our nature is to be connected with God by love. Some people say that you have to connect with God by merging into Him.

This is not a very good idea. Like recently I was told that it was one Swamiji in India, he said that gopis, you know, they wanted to merge in Krishna and ultimately they were merging Krishna. No.

There is much deeper connection. You know, so many microbes are merged in us. Does it mean that we have very intimate relationship with the microbes? No. There is no connection with these microbes.

But if there is a connection with love, this is the real connection. If you have connection through love with your children or with your beloved or with anyone else, you're happy and they are happy.

So this is exactly the connection which makes the living entity happy. If you have this connection, then only yayātmā suprasīdati, ātmā becomes completely, totally satisfied.

And therefore, Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, by seeing all these omens, all these bad signs, signs of inauspiciousness, he could deduce something really tragic has happened: that the Lord departed from this world

and we are disconnected now, we cannot have this connection anymore.

Arjuna's arrival and Yudhishthira's anxiety

And by feeling this complete distress within himself, feeling totally desperate. He sees Arjuna entering his palace. And Arjuna is totally, completely depressed. He's crying. You know it's very difficult for men to cry.

Women can cry easily, that's no problem. They say it's the ultimate weapon of women when they cry.

They don't have any other weapon, but this is the atom bomb for the But men uh they don't cry so easily. Especially such powerful warriors like Arjuna.

But when Yudhiṣṭhira saw Arjuna crying, completely pale, weak, emaciated, depressed, so Yudhishthira started asking him questions. And ultimately he wants to ask only one question. What happened with Krishna?

Is Krishna still here? Or if He left? But he cannot pronounce this question. Sometimes we know this when we know that something bad has happened. We just cannot ask this question. We don't want to hear this news.

If somebody who is very dear to us departed from this world, we just don't want to hear this. And in the same situation, Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, he goes round and round and round and round and round.

He wants to ask what happened with Krishna.

But instead of this, he's asking how is Sāmba and how is Aniruddha and how is Satyabhāmā and how is Kṛṣṇa and how is Balarāma and how is this? He's asking about everyone, but he just wants—he knows. Deep in his heart he knows Krishna has departed from this world.

And he is asking—maybe then he will ask—maybe you broke your dharma, your religious duties, maybe you didn't protect women, maybe you didn't protect cows, maybe you didn't protect old people. He is not able to pronounce this question.

What happened in Dwaraka? And this is again what we have to understand. Every one of us is looking for Krishna. But somehow or other, we are trying to forget about this.

There is some vacuum within our heart, there is some lacking within our heart, some problem within our heart because the heart is empty, and we are looking for Kṛṣṇa, but because we are not looking so seriously we sometimes forget that we are looking for Krishna.

We sometimes get distracted, we sometimes want to have some little entertainment.

Like yesterday we were walking in Dubai and there is some children play and they are, you know, they're in this big merry-go-round, you know, yeah, yeah.

You know, people, they do anything to forget that their life is empty, that their heart is empty.

They will take drugs, in Russia they take vodka, which is a common replacement for Kṛṣṇa in Russia. It's general kind of recipe to become happy.

Maharaja Pariksit's search for Krishna

But ultimately, what we have to understand, we are looking for Krishna. The whole Bhagavatam is spoken to Maharaja Pariksit, and Maharaja Pariksit,

the very word of Maharaja Pariksha, the very name of Maharaja Pariksit means somebody who is looking. Pariksit means examiner. He's looking around and he's thinking, is it Krishna or not?

And if it's not Krishna, he's just he goes on looking. You know, and in the same way, by listening to Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, we have to take position of Maharaja Parikshit. I want to find who is Krishna. I need Krishna.

There is actually a very nice story I was told that Krishna he used to come to Hastināpura quite often. And when Maharaj Pariksit was a small baby, he was a little, little baby,

and I you know little baby, they are totally stupid. They are completely very. But Maharaj Parikshit was different.

So there was a story when Krishna and Yudhiṣṭhira they were sitting on the thrones and little baby Pariksit was on the lap of Yudhiṣṭhira. And Yudhiṣṭhira he noticed a very strange phenomenon. This little baby would look at the face of Krishna and start smiling and because he looked down and became very serious and totally puzzled and bewildered. And then again he would look up and again he would smile and but then again he would look down and again would become serious and really, you know, sad.

So Yudhiṣṭhira noticed this strange thing and he he couldn't figure out what's going on in the mind of this little baby. And he couldn't ask this little baby because this little baby didn't really speak Sanskrit at that time.

So he asked Krishna, Krishna, what's going on in his mind? Why is he smiling and then he becomes bewildered and serious and then again smiles and again?

And Krishna says, because he's looking for me, and he looks at my face and he recognizes me and he becomes happy. But then he looks a little down and he sees that I only have two arms.

And in the womb of mother he had four arms and he he becomes bewildered is it him or not? Is it really the person whom I am looking for?

And he becomes puzzled and you know he becomes totally unhappy and he again looks at the face and he says, yes that's him.

But then again he looks down and he doesn't see four arms. You know only two arms are there. Two arms are missing. And he becomes again bewildered.

You know, and then at this moment Krishna manifested his four-armed form and uh Maharaja Parikshit became happy. So uh the point of this story again is the same. We are looking for God. And without Him we cannot be happy.

Carefree bliss of Dwaraka's residents

And here Mahārāja is asking, is actually saying about this these two verses which I read because I was told that I should read these verses although we're not supposed to read the next verse but anyway.

So these two verses they describe how happy people were in Dvārakā when Krishna was there. Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira is asking. He's saying Mangalaya Loka nam ksemayacha bhavayacha asteyadu kolom badhaw adio nanta sakahuman.

He says that uh listen it's very important. He says all these Yadavas who were living in uh Dvārakā they were like inhabitants of Vaikuṇṭha and Vaikuṇṭha is the place where there's no anxiety.

And it is said very clearly here what they do, what did they do in Dvārakā Kridanti? Kridanti means they were playing. They were completely carefree.

You know, if you look and the people of this world, they are very, very, very, very completely in anxiety. Everyone is depressed. Money, money, money, money, money. How much money will we get? I need more.

Will I be able to pay all my bills? This is the life in Dubai and Sharja too. But the spiritual world is different. It's called Vaikuṇṭha.

Vaikuṇṭha means the place where there is no impediments, where there is no problems, where there is no anxiety. And what do they do? Kridenti, they play.

You know, when the people are happy, when they're you know in a very happy mood, they become very playful. You know, it's a natural position of the living entity.

When little child is there, he's playing and he's playing and he can play eternity. You know, he will imagine something and do this and you know he will play all this.

And actually, this is the natural and when people are you know, have have little holyida, you know, after two weeks of hard work. They also play.

They also do they want some entertainment, they want to play a little bit here or there, play chess and whatever.

I don't know what how they played. Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira doesn't say here. But he says paramanandam. They're completely in bliss and they're playing because of this. Why they're in bliss, why they are playing?

Because Krishna is there. And Krishna is there, it is said very clearly here that Krishna is there to bring three things to the living entity. And these three things are very important for us to understand.

When Krishna is there in our lives, he also brings these three things: mangalaya, ksemaya and bhavaya. These three things which, which is explained, which Maharaja explains in this world, in this verses, are important for us to understand because this is what

real connection with Krishna brings to our life. It is specifically said that Krishna is there, puman. Puman means enjoyer, but puman means also protector. It's the male principle.

He is puman, means God. So what he gives to the world, he ultimately gives three things. And these three things is bhavaya, ksemaya and mangalaya. And uh there are different interpretations of this.

Material prosperity through divine connection

Śrīla Prabhupāda gives one interpretation, Śrīla Śrīdhara Svāmī gives slightly different interpretation, Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura gives a different interpretation of this. But ultimately these three things, three features of auspiciousness will come to our life when we will have connection with Krishna.

And the first one is not the first one which is mentioned here. I will start from the other end: it is bhavaya. Bhavāya means prosperity. Bhavāya means progress. Bhavāya means Prabhupāda explains here: elevation.

Bhāva means, you know, that we are materially happy. Elevation means we are developing, we are, you know, we are progressing. Bhavāya means progress. Like everyone in this world is after this advancement.

So bhavāya means advancement, and basically it means material advancement. So this prosperity will be there. When Krishna is there, when God is there in our life, he brings prosperity, he brings money.

All these Yadavas, and there are many of them, millions of them. They are compared here with the ocean—so many of them, so many Yadavas are there. Here now, there are few Yadavas still left.

Mulayam Singh Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav... But Lalu still loves the cow. But in, uh, in Krishna's time there were many Yadavas. And they didn't work hard. I don't know if Mulayam sing Yadav works hard, no, but Yadavas

And they didn't work hard. The other was in Dwaraka they they were you know they were happy. Why? Because everything was there.

It is says here, Mahaparashikas, they were like inhabitants of Vaikuṇṭha, because everything which was necessary was there. They had beautiful palaces, they had beautiful wives, they had beautiful children,

obedient children, not nasty children like nowadays. Good children. They had everything where they wanted. They were totally completely happy and rice was there also, Chapati were there and everything was there.

So Bhawa means advancement, means you know prosperity. Means whatever you need. And it's there. Krishna is there for this. If somebody is connected, India was the most uh the richest country in the world.

In the 17th century when India was discovered or when this uh you know strange people from Europe came to India. India was by far the most rich country in the world. Why? Because India always had connection with God.

It's top of boomy, it's the boomy when people have this understanding they have to be connected with God. It brings prosperity.

This This modern way of bringing prosperity, destroying everyone, and destroying human beings, and destroying life, it destroys family, it destroys culture, destroys everything.

There is so-called prosperity in the modern world. But the price which we will have to pay is very high. It's not really prosperity. It's actually poverty.

People in the modern world are very poor because they're disconnected with God. But here this very clearly said if you become connected with God, you become rich. No doubt about it.

Once Maharaj Vitishtira was talking with Krishna and he said, Krishna, I want to become the richest man in the world. Krishna was a little puzzled and he said, Yes, that's good, it's a good desire. I can make you.

Tata's too. Let it be so. And he said, I want a beautiful wife. Very beautiful wife. Let it be. And then he has so many other things and then ultimately Yasma Rajviti sir, why do you need this?

He says, because people they will ask me, your Krishna's friend, why you're so poor. But I just said I don't need this. I don't really need this. But for preaching purposes, please make me rich.

So then you know people need to hear this. You know, if you be worship Krishna you will become rich, don't worry about it.

Inner protection and fearlessness in bhakti

Therefore, Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira clearly says here: Bhāvaya, bhāvaya means you know, materially you will be prosperous. And then it is said Ksemaya. Kshemaya means protection. Literally kṣhemaia means protection.

And Prabhupāda also translates kṣemāya for protection. And ultimately kṣemāya means fearlessness. When you're protected, you may be materially rich, so many people here in this world are rich.

But if they have fear, anxiety, will they be happy? No.

They may be rich, they may have material progress, but if they are completely in anxiety, you know, what will happen tomorrow, what will happen with my riches, is this two thousand twelve is really the end of the world or it's still some this māyā calendar when it will come, you know, what is this twenty-first of December of 2012? Twelve o'clock in the afternoon.

Very Krishna. So kṣhema means this inside feeling of protection. When you are fearless, when you're totally completely protected and sheltered. And this is the feeling which comes when you have Krishna in your life.

Krishna will bring prosperity, but Krishna will bring more to your life. Krishna will bring to your life this feeling that everything is fine. No matter what, even if this Maya calendar is correct, no problem for me.

You know, it's no problem. It doesn't matter. I'm a part of Krishna. Krishna will always protect me. I will always be with him. No matter what. Whatever is happening is happening for good.

So that's the feeling of kṣemāya, of protection, which uh those people who have connection with Krishna definitely have.

Like yesterday I was speaking with Ayurvedic doctor in this uh clinic and this Ayurvedic doctor he he wanted he wanted to know my experience what do I get from chanting because Because nowadays people they need to have some explanation.

Before that, you know, with a sudden shastra you have to chant, they would chant. Nowadays you have to have some incentive. So and I was telling him I became happy and I became uh free from anxieties, this and that.

And he said yes, yes, yes. And he's an Ayurvedic doctor. To understand what he's told me you have to keep it in mind. He said, I also sometimes I chant this Hare Krishna mantra, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna.

As he says the feeling which I get from this is that if you take a leaf of mint and you put the leaf of mint inside your mouth and then it becomes cool. Right?

The mint is kind of give you this cooling sensation. He says the same kind of cooling sensation I feel within my heart. It's just like mint, you know. So it's a very Ayurvedic explanation. In fact, but

anyway, this is exactly what Maharaja Yudhisthira is telling here when he says ksemaya. Kshemaya means you know feel protected. I feel completely fearless.

Inside it's cool, you know it's outside maybe warm, but inside is very cool. Very nice.

Pure love as ultimate auspiciousness

Very nice. And then Mangalaya. He starts with Mangalaya. And Mangalaya means, of course, you all know what Mangalaya means. Mangalaya means auspiciousness. And uh Śrīla Prabhupāda translates mangalaya for all good.

But mangalaya means and Śrīla Sīdhara Svāmī I looked in his commentary to this verses, he also says śubha, śubha, śubha. Mangal means śubha. Śubha means prosperity, happiness, this and that.

But uh Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura, he says mangala. Ultimately what is mangala? He says that mangala means. He says that ultimate purpose and ultimate mangala, ultimate auspiciousness.

And I started my lecture, my little talk from this. Hari-priya. His love is in the heart. And this is what ultimately Krishna gives. Krishna gives material prosperity. No doubt about it.

Krishna frees you from anxiety, gives you some shanti, some deas, some some some uh liberation from suffering you know some feeling of being protected no doubt about it.

But the most important thing which Krishna gives is prayer. Complete connection in love with Him. And if we want this, he will give it.

If we don't want this, he will only give us up to this level of shanti liberation or whatever. So Krishna is uh chintamani, Krishna's name is Cintamani, Nama Chintamani Krishna, Chaintamania Rasa Vigrava.

So uh Krishna's name can give you everything. It depends what you want. If you want material prosperity, Krishna's name will give you material prosperity.

If you want this feeling of protection, Krishna's name will give will give you this feeling of protection, freedom from anxiety, not always.

But ultimately, the ultimate gift which Krishna can give or Krishna's name can give is this manga this mangala is prem love. That's the ultimate thing which Krishna can give.

And we have to really understand that this is what we want. That this is what we beg from Krishna. Because if this is there, everything will be there automatically. And if this is not there, you will remain poor.

It is said in Caitanya-caritāmṛta that you know I am a daridra jīv. I am a poor Jeev. Why I am poor? Because I don't have this dhan of love. And he says if you appreciate my service, please give me some salary.

Not in uh dirhams. But in this wealth of prema, prema-dhana.

Oh my Lord, if you appreciate my service, whatever I do, you know I give me some check in a prema investment bank. You know, please give me some salary in this currency, which is the most important currency in the world.

Please give me this auspiciousness in this life. Give me some love. Then I will become happy. Then I will become prosperous, then everything else will come to my life. So that's Krishna will give.

And we can get it not only from Krishna, we can also get it from devotees. Bhaktyā saṁjātayā bhaktyā.

This bhakti which we need you can get from devotees and from the book Bhāgavatam. These two sources of love in the form of Bhakti or Praya is the devotees, Bhagavan or Bhagavan, Bhagavatas, and the book Bhagavatam.

This is how you can get it. And of course Krishna himself can give it to you. But this is ultimate. And this comes in the form of remembering about the Lord. We are disconnected with Him in heart when we forget about Him.

And we are connected with Him when we remember about Him. And when we meet with the devotees, what we hear from the devotees is something about Krishna. And remembrance about Krishna comes to our heart.

When we read Bhagavatam, we again are reminded about Krishna. And remembrance about Krishna comes.

Story of Durvasa Muni in Vraja

And when this remembrance comes becomes constant, that's called love.

So I I will tell a little more story, one one little story in the end, how Krishna gives this love and then I will finish this because it's like anyway this nice story about Durvasamuni, how Durvasamuni got love of God.

You know Durvasa Muni. Durvasamuni is a very funny character. And is described in Mahabharata that he is approximately ten feet tall. Quite big. He he would come here.

And he usually comes to gṛhasthas and asks for food. And he eats a lot. You know, if he is that big. It's you know and if you don't satisfy him, too bad for you. He will really curse you. He's a he's a fiery person.

He's a he's he's there to keep all gṛhasthas on track. To remind all the gṛhasthas that their duty is to feed everyone especially sādhus to their full content anyway so and he's a he's a strange person anyway and he's a he's

not really a bhakta as such but he has heard that bhagavan god himself incarnated on earth in Vraj and he' theres playing and hurting cows. And he could not believe it. He said, no, no, no, it cannot believe this.

Somebody told him that Krishna came and he was a small little chap. And he's playing somewhere at Bright. And he just couldn't believe it. He said it's just it's just mythology.

Just folklore just vaj funny stories you know you know so many funny stories are there you know like in in I I read one book in Russian

about Indian mythology and the book says you know the Indians they have such a fertile brain. You know they imagine something which nobody else imagined.

So when Durvasamuni heard that God came on the earth and he's just a small child, he said it's just mythology. But he still wanted to check it out, whether it's true or not.

So he came to Brahma and he started asking, you know, you know where is Krishna? He asked a little small boy which was there. And he said, Do you know what is Krishna? And when he said, Krishna, this boy stood there.

And he didn't answer anything. So the reaction was unique, it was strange, you0.777913411111111 Why did this boy, the boy was stunned? Then he went to somebody else, asked, where is Krishna?

As soon as somebody else heard this name, Krishna, everyone became totally they forgot about everything. They forgot about Durvasa Muni. Durvasamuni said this is strange, you know, what's going on.

He was looking and looking and looking and looking and ultimately he found one lady and this lady lady was churning yogurt and she was changing.

Jaya Radha Madhava or something like this. So she was churning and this time he decided not to ask her directly about Krishna.

Because he said if I say Krishna, she will become stunned again and you said do you know that they say there is some rumors that Bhagavan is here somewhere and they say that he likes a small boy of a young color.

You know, and uh she says you're asking about Krishna, yes? He was shocked. She said, Oh, he's there, he's just there, playing. Just go there, on the bank of Yamuna. And he went there and he saw this little boy.

He saw this little boy and he looked at this boy and he couldn't he couldn't take his eyes from this boy.

He was looking and looking and looking at this boy, and this, you know, this big guy, this matted hairs, totally undressed. Durvasa means he's poorly dressed. Poorly dressed means naked. That's the ultimately poor dress.

He's not dressed at all. Big yogi, skinny, because nobody feeds him. So so this boy and this boy he he became, he also became very astonished when he saw this yogi. He's looking at this boy, he's totally astonished.

And this boy is looking at him. He said, ah. And this boy came to him. That's the rishi, he sat down and this boy came to him and he started playing with him. And the rishi is looking at him.

He said, is this Bhagavān? And something inside him says, no, it cannot be. I don't believe it. No no no. Cannot be. According to my scientific background, it cannot be. It's just some stories. Can it be?

You know Krishna is looking and he knows what is going on in his mind and in his heart. He says, you don't believe it, right? He's looking at him

and he's looking at him and, you know, is it him or not, is it him or not? And this moment Krishna became a little bored with this yogi because this yogi is not really playing with him. So Krishna he yawned.

He opened his little mouth. And when he opened his little mouth, there wasn't only looking in the mouth and he saw the universe there. We know what is from the mouth of Krishna. Sometimes he opens his mouth. People see.

And there was and who was seeing, you know, planets and, you know, suns and stars and everything. And then he feels that he's being sucked in this mouth.

He feels that he's there and he's flying within this mouth in the universe, and you know that so many solar years he's flying there and then he is born somewhere in the mouth of Krishna.

And he's born as somebody and he has some you know life, some family life and this and that and he feels it and you know so many lifetimes And he tries to become a yogi.

He renounces, he gets a guru, guru teaches him, Guru teaches him how to create planets and universes, he becomes a real mystic yogī, he becomes Durvāsā, and he hears

that somewhere on the earth in Vraja, Bhagavān manifested as Krishna. And he goes again and he goes through that same thing and he—he, of course, forgot about everything.

And the same story repeats itself and he comes to rishi, he sees little boy and this little boy comes to him and he looks at this little boy and he feels he looks familiar to me. I have seen him somewhere.

He looks at him and boy looks at him. And this boy he is preparing to yawn. And he is about to open his mouth. And then Durvāsā Muni remembers everything. Oh, he already sucked me in his mouth. Sucked me and I was.

And he closed the mouth of Krishna. Don't yawn this time. Not anymore. I don't want it. I've been there. I know what is there. So Krishna looks at him and says, you know, what do you want from me?

He says, I want I want to remember about you. I want the love. That does too. Take it. You remember about me. And then you will you will be happy. So this is ultimate auspiciousness which we can get.

And devotees of the Lord are here for this, and the book Bhagavatam is here to remind us and to help us to remember about the world all the time. Okay.

Overcoming difficulties in early sadhana

Thank you. Yes. During the uh transition period of uh achieving this happiness or uh uh śānta, peacefulness in Krishna conscious, you you get disturbed, although you are a devotee.

During the transition period, Krishna will surely going to give you s uh peacefulness and happiness and premā and ultimately happiness and back to be with them. But during the transition period you get very disturbed.

So how do how do one uh cope with this sort of uh thing and still be strong and going strong towards Krishna, not going backward? See this interim period is difficult. It's called anartha-nivṛtti and anarthas disturb you.

And you say I was more happy before because I have to do my sadhana before I could sleep a little longer some extra time for my rest. But uh to keep up through the spirit you need faith.

Therefore Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī says ādau śraddhā. It starts with faith and faith will carry you to the other bank, so to speak.

This is a difficult period when disturbance are there, anxiety are there, doubts are there, you have all these doubts, sunshine, sande inside your heart. Do I waste my time? Maybe I should do something else.

instead of changing or coming to this satsang. instead of changing or coming to this satsang. But ultimately the only thing which can uh save us in this uh period is faith, strong faith.

And therefore, Prabhupada, he was stressing so much Bhagavad-gītā because Bhagavad-gītā gives you complete faith.

Bhagavad-gītā is a special book which is there to dissipate all the doubts about the path, about the method, about the nature of the soul, the duty of the soul.

So uh you have to strengthen your faith and your faith is strengthened by associating with devotees and by reading especially Bhagavad-gītā. In the beginning Bhagavad-gītā is very helpful.

Later Bhāgavatam will start conveying yourself.

Managing thoughts during japa chanting

So faith is required. During chanting this mind. Thoughts are coming, distorting it. So how to go back again, be thoughtless and concentration on chanting. Thoughtless you will never be chanting.

Don't you would try to, Mahārāja, still was asked What is what was the question this yakṣa asked him? Uh you know,

I think anyway the the answer was the thoughts which are here in our mind is you know as as numerous as the blades of grass and alone. So there's so many thoughts are there, always are there.

But uh if your thoughts are connected with Krishna, uh then it's a success. Ultimately when you chant you have to remember about Krishna. Who is Krishna?

You know, if you chant that you're totally thoughtless, it's also not so pleasing for Krishna. You know, if you If you call somebody and you're totally thoughtless, you call somebody, hey, but you are thoughtless no. No.

Chanting means feeling you're calling. You're calling for Krishna. So we are not really trying to empty our mind from the

thoughts, we are trying to replace these bad thoughts with the good thoughts. And the only way to replace these bad thoughts to the good thoughts is to hear about hear about Krishna again and again and again. And to speak.

Because when you hear you hear what somebody thinks about Krishna. And when you're forced to speak you're also forced to think about Krishna because you will have to speak something.

Unless you will tell some news from the internet and the Bhagavatam class, which is often the case. But ultimately your thoughts should be about Krishna during the change. And for that you need to hear some chair summary...

Hindi so much done. Tara tara hindi bata. Next time I will speak in Hindi. If you bless me, please give me your blessing. You have been uh to Dwarka? Dhabin Dwarka? Huh? Dwarka you have... you have been? Yeah.

You know Bet Dwarka? Yes. There is a pillar is a trouble. There is a pillar. Pillar, yeah. You cannot... cannot go inside the pillar. You have seen that. I'm not red daughter. I don't remember. There is a thing. Temple.

Temple they didn't allow nothing. Next to the mosjet. Next to the mosjet, yeah? Yeah. Next to what it can? Next to the mosque. Inside the temple. We didn't go. We didn't. We went to Bet Dwarka but we didn't go to the...

Okay, thank you very much.
