The Importance of Gurukula in Modern Live

Preserving cultural tradition against modernization

0:00I am very happy to be with all of you in this wonderful place. Makandal Prabhu came to the temple and introduced us this project a few days back and we eagerly agreed to come here to see.

0:19And uh Patri Prabhu was so excited and enthusiastic that he immediately invited upon his magic wand all came here. So the significance of this is that uh you know we have to preserve the traditions.

0:44And the preservation of traditions is the most important thing because the modern civilization very aggressively attacks innocence.

0:55What is being destroyed, what is being slaughtered by the modern civilization is the innocence of the human soul. Human soul becomes polluted and contaminated and consciously.

1:11Consciously there is a conscious design in the modern civilization to pollute the consciousness of our innocent people to destroy the innocence of people.

1:26I remember I was driving in Delhi and there was a big advertisement for my movie End of Innocence. Yeah that's that's the title for the modern civilization, The End of Innocence.

1:43And when people become contaminated, they become you know completely lost in in this jungle of the modern world.

1:56So we're here to see how we can preserve our culture the real culture of the world. Because there's no other culture.

Heart to heart transmission of culture

2:10Everything else is doesn't fit the bill. So this is the culture and the culture the only way to transfer culture is through parampara from heart to heart. It's not transmissible through internet. Therefore you all here.

2:34Otherwise you could be on Zoom having a Zoom tour of this place. But you all came here and there is a very great lesson behind this event is that culture can only be transmitted from heart to heart.

2:53There is no other way to transmit the culture. some other things, you can transmit viruses by other means. But the culture is being transmitted from heart to heart only.

3:12There's no other way, there's no other way, there's no other way.

Protecting human emotion and unity

3:15And for that we have to, you know, come uh and see and feel each other. Like Makanal Prabhu said, that this realm of emotions is there. Which are being killed, which is being destroyed basically. And therefore people. Why?

3:33Because when there is no emotions you can easily exploit somebody. When emotions are intact, when you have the dignity and you have the feelings, uh the real feelings, feelings for the truth, feelings for you know

3:50that I'm a human being with a purpose, not just a number in statistics here. Uh then it's difficult to dis- to exploit such people.

4:09You can only exploit somebody who is deprived of his human dimension, which is basically the proper feelings, the sentiments.

4:21So we are very lucky and fortunate that Makan Lau Prabhu is here and he invited all of us and we are lucky that Patri Prabhu was so insistent and you by uh obeying him and uh following his request you manifested uh you know amazing qualities so I can really glorify all of you that you came here all of a sudden leaving everything back so thank you very much for doing this.

4:58This is the real test of unity. Just to leave everything else to be together and to be in touch with reality not to be in touch with computers and internet. Thank you very much.
