Chapters

It's a great honor for me to be with all of you on this holy day of Friday, Jumma. And yes, we will say a few words about the significance of the appearance of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, which is coming next week.

Verse on external reasons of appearance

Jaya Sichaitanya Jaya Nitananda, Jayadvaita Chandra Jaya Gau Bhakta Vrindam, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Harehare, Hare Rama Hari Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.

So I will say a few words on a very famous verse Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī which Śrīla Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī places as one of the verses of maṅgalācaraṇa of Śrī Caitanya Caritāmṛta.

This verse is explaining the external reasons of the appearance of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and oh okay, I I have to pause. I'm sorry.

Saman or Goravki Bhathaki Ap Logoneaj Shukravar Kavitra Dinpur Maharaj Puyahankata Nekile Amantrit Kya to Maharajerayam Put Shaptkareng

kahenge shi chatanya mahaprabhuki avirbhav kevishem joaglesapta Mangla Charan may raptehe, or ye slok she chatanya mahaprabhuke, Bahria Karanhe, uh Johamaribich prakat Hone Kele, Uska Vernan Karta.

Anarpita charium Chiratkaruna Evatialu Samarpaitam Unatojval Rasam Swabhakti Shriam Harih Purata Sundra Dyuti Kadamba Sandi Pita Haridaya kandare spuratu vahsachinandana.

So this verse was uh glorified by uh Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu himself and especially all of his associates, when Srarupa

Gosvāmī being shy as he is, was forced to recite this verse in Siddha-kul in a place where Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī and Thakur Haridas were living at that time in Jagannath Purichaitanya

Mahaprabhujine is Shlok Ka Swayam Gungan Kiahe Jab Orunk Sahyogi on a bi jab sri Rupa Goswami isekai Siddha Pakulme Jahaparve Sri

Lupagoswami is glorifying Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu by saying Anarpita Charim Chirat for a long time, something which was not given by anyone, Anarpita, Charim Chirat, Karuna Evatirna Kalu.

You came to this age of Kali because of your own mercy.

So Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī has written a very elaborate commentary on this verse, very long and elaborate commentary on this verse, and I will touch a little bit of this commentary where he explains the similes and different subtle points of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's appearance in this world.

Symbolic meaning of Navadvip's nine islands

So Silag Jiva Goswami ne is slok par pahoti vistrit a tipri or t First of all, he's explaining why Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu has appeared in Navadveep and what is the meaning of Navadvip.

Sabsepa levo bi akyakara Ki Sri Chaitanya Mah He says that Navadvīpa means nine islands, and each island of Navadvīpa is the symbolic

dweep or in Nordweepomase Pratik Dweep a Pratikatma Pratiniditvahe a Johaktike no Angoka. He says that these nine islands are in the ocean of Brahman. These nine islands of Navadvīpa are floating in the ocean of Brahma.

And they maintain the ocean of Brahma, they support the ocean of Brahma by their very existence. Orjupreamka Sagarhe, uhanayraktehe, iske uh seokka tehe uhne astitvasi.

And because the purpose of Chaitanya Mahāprabhu of coming to this world in Kali Yuga is to give prema.

He comes to Navadvīpa to explain that the only way to achieve prema is to be engaged in these nine processes of devotional service in a very systematic way. Uh to uh sorry, to keep

chatanya mahaprabhu is Jagatme Anika Karathe Anika Karan hai, Prem Pradhan Karna, isleve Nadu me aate hai is batko samja anekele, case praem prapti ka Sivapropada

Śrīla Prabhupāda often used to say that bhakti is a science. It's not just a religion. It's a very scientific process.

And by appearing in Navadvīpa, Śrī Chaitanya Mahāprabhu is showing us that to achieve the goal of prema, love of God, we have to be constantly engaged in one of the processes of devotional service in a systematic manner.

Jiva Goswami's commentary on ten reasons

Śrīla Prabhupādajī aksar kahā karte the ki bhakti ekvigyanhe keval ye uhramam pe Py adadharharat Nayeski Sat Satek Vigyanbihe or Chatanyamhaprabhu Now Dripme Swayam Prakathoteh is Batko Dikane Kele, Kipreemka Laksha Pane Kele, Ame Lagata is Navang Bhakti Kamse kam ek Ang Majoranahuga So

So that's the first point which Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī is making by explaining this verse and then he says he starts explaining 10 different reasons of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's appearance, 10 different aspects of his appearance in this world in Kali Yuga.

So yeh pehli pehla viṣaya hai jo Jīva Gosvāmī samjhāte hai ślok ke viṣaya me aur phir vo āge samjhāne jāte hai d-śa kāraṇ Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.

let's uh analyze this and try to understand how it is very relevant to our existence and to our practice of devotional service. One after another, the reasons of uh Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's appearance in this world.

So Aye Hamsab milke Vishlasham kartehe is bak ko samajka prayas kartehe kese e hamare astikvam me la He's

basically explaining this verse, Anartita Charit Cham, what Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is giving, which was not given before by anyone during this day of Brahma.

So Mulrufseve Samjara a Anarpito Charit Chirac Charit Chiram Keele Kabi Dianahim Kayata is Brahma

The first uh reason or the first gift of Lord Chaitanya is Atyanta Agati Gati Danaya To award something which is unattainable. Agati gati. Gati means goal.

Agati the goal which you cannot really achieve. Atyanta Agati in the extreme extent unattainable goal he is just giving to us. Atyanta Agati Gati Danaya to give Atyanta Agati Gati Danaya. Yeah.

So basically what does it mean? It means that we all have some goals. And usually we have very major goals.

Somebody wants to have some money, somebody wants to have a wife, somebody wants to have a job in Khyamadesh or in Madhuradesh or in some you know some nice place or somebody

have a very agati gati to go to America and become a doctor in America.

So people they have different goals, but these goals are actually very insignificant and they waste the time of their life in trying to achieve these goals.

So, like, yē kahānā hai, ki jīvan meṁ lakṣya hote haiṁ, āṁtor par bahut alpatva lakṣya hote haiṁ: kisī ko kuṭumb cāhiye, kisī ko patnī cāhiye, kisī ko naukrī cāhie. So

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu comes and he all of a sudden gives this amazing goal and makes this goal achievable. And everyone becomes inspired about this goal.

You know, we can see people in the places where they never heard about Krishna, all of a sudden they are dreaming about achieving this goal of loving Krishna, even though they never heard about Krishna before.

But all of a sudden, this goal becomes relevant becomes very bright

in their life. Kiṅgiś prakāś, aur acānak se ut tama lakṣya sabhiko de aur ye lakṣya Hare Kṛṣṇa. I think someone has to be muted, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Mute kījiye, ye. It's uh excitement about the agati gati un attainable goal.

So ham dekhte haiṁ mahārāj batā rahe ki śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu lakṣya pradān karte haiṁ, abuddha lakṣya, aur keval use pradān nahīṁ karte, us lakṣya ko prāpya bhī banāte, aur kaisī bhakti prērit hone lagte haiṁ! Jinhoṅne kabhī Kṛṣṇa ke bāre meṁ sunā bhī nahīṁ thā, Baby Krishna Pray Panek Lakshaka Swapekne Laktehe, or ye Laksha on keg jivan make namhatmapun hojata hai or kitna ujwal hojata hai.

Śrīla Prabhupāda says in the Bhagavad-gītā that if you set the goal you will be able to achieve it. And it's a very important principle. If you see the goal, you will be able to achieve it.

But unfortunately, people don't see the real goal of their life. And Caitanya Mahāprabhu comes in Kali Yuga and says, these other goals which you have are useless, tucha. They are insignificant.

This is the goal, and if you achieve this goal, every other goal is included into this goal.

Second reason of distributing divine love

Uh to uh Shila Prabhupada Ji Bhagavad Gita make Agarham Hamare Jivan me koy laksya rakhenge, to hamu se prap karsa gang, agarham lakshia ko dek saktehet u se prap karsa Lakshia up the Jivanke Bana Ke, it's a tuche, a ye vastovik luck shehe, a gap is Laksha for pract caring it, to his me or sub Lakshia Vishamilhe.

So the next uh reason for Caitanya Mahāprabhu's appearance or the next aspect of his gift to the world is very interesting. Nidja Prema Ratna Raksana Yatnogva, Karpanya Dosha He comes here in this

age of Kali in order to remove the fault of miserliness arising from carefully protecting his jewel of prema.

Up, then the spare Nijupre Maratna, a Khatani Mahaprabhu Yahapar Atehe, or ye kriparta, kad dosh dur kartehe, a yikase kartehe, yejuprehmka rattnahe, uski suraksha de kevoyaka Sila Deva

Goswami explains that Pram is the most confidential and most cherished jewel of God Himself. And He is very very careful in regard to whom to give this jewel. He is not really careless.

So before He was not giving this Bhakti so freely Poshethe, a boh gup Genahe, uh Jubagwan, Savan Retehe, ye har kisiko nahi de soachteheke kisko dana hair, wo ye bant neke vishe me, la parva nahihe, to pele wo ye ratna Sabiko Vatnahira Hete.

In Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam Śukadeva Gosvāmī says Muktir Dadātikar Hichit Smana Bhakti Yogo that That Lord Krishna very easily gives mukti. If somebody comes to him and says, I want liberation, I want mukti, he will give.

But he's very, very careful and stingy when it comes to giving bhakti yoga. Smana bhakti yoga.

So Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam me Śukadeva Gosvāmī jī kahte hai uh bhagwan kipa sata hai or Yes, he's very conducive. That's true. So he's uh he's very stingy.

He doesn't want to give bhakti because he knows if I give bhakti to somebody, then he will attain such a power that he will control even myself. So Krishna is very, very careful.

He's looking at somebody and saying, no, no, no, this is not fit, and this is not fit, and this is not fit. And ultimately, he doesn't give bhakti to anyone.

UK way Janteh, Kyakarunone Kisiko Phakti Devi, to Use Uspratar Kish Shakti Prabhupai, Kiva Bhagwanko Nyantrankarne Lagha, to Krishna Bhata Sabdhan hai, would decktehe, obolte hai nine nine, isko Yeah.

Especially in this Kali Yuga if you try to uh see who is qualified to get bhakti, uh y you will not find anyone.

There are seven billion people in this world, but uh out of the seven billion people hardly anyone no nobody has any qualification to get bhakti uh

to Agarham is uh Kalyukme is Jagatme de Keng e Kikon Yogyah a bhakti panekeli to a me koi naimilega yaha for sad billion santh.

So when Krishna is returning back to his spiritual world, this is Jiva Gaswami is explaining, after being in this Kali Yuga and the end of Dwapara Yuga in this earth, he's thinking, you know, I I was there and I didn't give Bhakti practically to anyone, and this is not good because this is fault, this is something very bad.

I have to become a little more generous. And therefore he comes again as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and says, okay, take it, take it, no problem.

So Srila Jiva Goswami ji uh samjaraya hai uh Krishna Vapas Adyat Mik Jagat Lord Rayheuks Anthe is Dharti Parveapilakarkemapas Lot Rayhe, to Krishna sochtehe mejap yanthartipetha maneto kissiko bhakti nahidi Ay Acha nahe, Ye ek doshe, Ye Burahe, Tumuje or U Adik Udar Banahoga, Isleve Vapasateh Sri Chatanya Mahaprabhu Tarme, or Katehe Lelo Lelo Prem, Koibatne,

Lelo Lelo Silva Jivagaswami uh kind of argues with himself. He says as a as an opponent, as Purva Pakshi, he says, what do you mean that Krishna didn't give Priy toma anyone before. What about Ambaris Maharaj? What about Pandavas? What about Dhruva Maharaj?

So many great devotees are listed in the scriptures who got Prayama from Krishna. What do we mean that he didn't give Prayama to anyone?

Laktehe, Apne Purva Pakshi Bankar, Vekate Iskaka Arth, Kik Krishna Nepalekisekabi Prem Nahidya, Amrish Maharaja, Panda Hru Maharaja, Itne Mahan Bhakta Hesh Shastrame, to Him to give him pra to give them prema. They more or less uh you know he unwillingly they they more or less took the praying from Krishna, not that Krishna gave them prayma.

To fit Jiva Goswami Chi Kate Nay Krishna Una Praem Nahindiya. Uno one egg prakar says the wordasti Krishna Komajbukiya Premeki.

Krishna is He says that uh for example there is a there is a ruler, very authoritarian ruler, and he can uh confiscate some uh some uh wealth from some wealthy people, but it doesn't mean that they give this wealth to him. He just takes them by force.

So he says, in the same way, all these devotees by their austerities, by their insistence, by their determination, they more or less forced Krishna to give them prema.

So it it's uh it's still he is very uh conduce. He is very he is very stingy. That uh they have to adopt such a violent means. Yes, please go on. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Leg in his above the sty se leta, scamadani vecuno say Laka, yet handia.

Analogy of the victorious king distributing wealth

Usipraka saying Bakhtone, Zabertastip, Nikuru say up Nidhirt say, a Krishna says the birthastice pray, Krishna to Abhibi Then

Silajiva Gaswami he again uh through the purvapakshi he says, but is it good to give uh such a valuable thing to unqualified people because we know that even in Bhagavad-gītā Krishna He condemns people who give charity to unqualified people. He says it's Tamasiq charity.

If you give to somebody who is qualified in the proper moment, then this is sattvic charity.

But if you give to somebody who is unqualified without any consideration of kvalification or the time then it's just charity in the mod of tamas to

feel uh Purva Pakshme Fair Shiva Jiva Gosam Amiekate, uh Kek ky Achahe, Agathi Ayogyakti koyedan diaja, Bhagavad Kitame Swayam, Bhagwan B is Bhatka Khandan Kartehe, Kajovovy Vakti Dande Ayogyavtioko, what Tamokurmedyan Dane, Yadiko Yogya Vaktiko, Saiuchit Same Dande, to Vos Satvik Danhe.

So is it clarification of the Lord that He gives Krishna Prem which is so valuable to anyone, or it's it's something you're saying that He He doesn't know what He's doing, you know by giving this Krishna Priam to any one and every one?

Is it really glorification of the Lord to say that He is giving this Krishna Priam to unqualified people. This is the question which Srila Jivagaswami asks. Yes please go ahead. No no no please please.

And Siladiva Gaswami answers to this question in a very beautiful way. He says, no, no, no.

Normally, yes, it's not proper to give charity to unqualified people, but there is one occasion when it's allowed, when it's proper.

Uh to fear uh Shijogoswami is Prashnaka Bohat Sunda Tariqese Uttar Detective Samanya Rupse Y Uchiknay Vaktiko is prakar bohat hi kimti cheese dena parant He

says when the king after conquering the whole world is coming back to his own kingdom with this victory, and he is so overjoyed by this victory, and he wants to share this joy in his heart with everyone.

He goes through the streets of his capital. And with him there are big big baskets of jewels, gold, and silver, and all kinds of valuable things.

And he takes this with his two hands and he shows it to the krauds vi are here along the street so

ferva koswami gekete, Kjaek Raja, Pure Jagatpur, Vijay Prabhakarke, who say jitke, apne raja me vapas lot raha hai, or wo is jit, say itna prasan hai, or ye prasanta orom kesat matpachata hai, towabni Rajdani Kesarkopar Nikalta hai, oruske sat, tokri hoty hai geheno ki soneki chandeki, or tono hatose goye gene josarakpa And

he says not only the king himself is doing this, but all his ministers, all his associates who are also very happy helping him to distribute this wealth without any discrimination and they're going along with the kings and also show all this wealth to the crowds.

Sahita kartehe a isprakasethan Yosarak Pesab Lok Jobhihe Unepatne Ki.

And Siladjiva Gaswami very interestingly explains what does it mean that we receive the mercy of Lord Chaitanya because sometimes people think that, you know, when Lord Chaitanya was there five hundred years back, then he was giving all this mercy to everyone, but now he's not giving because he's not there.

To Shila Jiva Koswami yes sam jate he sake iska r tkaya heki check in mahab He

says, no, no, it's not true because this uh victory uh victory how to say victory journey of the king is still going on and Shi Chaitanya Prabhu is

Uh Yesake Nahihe, Toyejo Raja, Abni Jit, Manarehe, Unki Jit, Mananiki Yatra, Abitak Chal Raihe, Abitak Wojo Kimti Ganehe, We Arstan for Sabiki or Pekrahe.

He says that somebody who gets a gold coin or silver coin, it means that he gets bhakti in the form of sadhana. Somebody who gets a jewel from Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, he gets bhakti in the form of bhava.

And those rare souls who get the mercy of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in the form of prema bhakti they get chintamani, which is also there in the basket.

But naturally, chintamani jewels are a little more rare than normal jewels and uh this normal jewels are even uh also more rare than golden coins. But even if we get bhakti in a form of sadhana that's also a great fortune.

That's also a gift of Lord Chaitanya. So don't say that you didn't get anything from Lord Chaitanya. You got a golden coin.

You can do sadhana-bhakti, which is actually not different from bhāva-bhakti and premā-bhakti. Bhakti and Prama Bhakti. It's just the initial stage of the same bhakti.

To upar milā sādhana-kī rūpa me, aur kisi aur ko zevara milate hai, unko milate hai ko'ī ratna, unko jaise bhāva milā hai, aur bahuta durlabha bhī. Aur kisī ko Caitanya Mahāprabhu kī kṛpā prāpta hotī hai prema-bhakti ke mādhyama se, to unko cintāmaṇi milā hai us to kṛṣṇa. Ḍurlabha hai jo sāmānya ratna aur us to krama me hai aur us se kām durlabha hai jo sone aur chāndī ke sikke. Aur ye sādhana-bhakti bhāva-bhakti aur premā-bhakti se abhiṁna to we're also there in the crowds of this victory journey of great king Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and we got some very valuable gift, gift of sādhana-bhakti. So we got some golden coin from his from his heart.

Jaise apane rājā apanī jīt kī yātrā kar rahā hai, ham is bhīḍ me hai aur bahuta mahān rājā hai Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, ham ko bhī un se ek bahuta kīmatī uphāra prāpta huā hai, is sādhana-bhakti ke rūpa meṁ, hame ye sone kā sikkā prāpta huā hai Caitanya Mahāprabhu kī kṛpā se.

So many people they completely changed their life. And you know, I very often get the letters from people who thank Śrīla Prabhupāda, thank Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, that their life has become thousands, if not millions of times better before they met with the devotees.

They say that it's just no comparison between the life which they led before and the life which they're leading now. So that's the mercy of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. That's the purpose why Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu came to Kali-yuga. And if he wouldn't come to this Kali-yuga, nobody would have a chance to be in touch with this amazing gift of sādhana-bhakti,

even bahuta bāra aisā hotā hai bahuta logo ki jīvana me pūrā badalā jātā hai aur kāfī bāra mahārāj ko patra āte hai, jahā par bhakti dani-vata kar rahe hai, Śrīla Prabhupāda jī kā dhanyavāda kar rahe hai, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu kā un kā jīvana me kitnā badalāva gayā hai un kā jīvana karoṛoṁ-karoṛoṁ guṇa aur better ho gayā hai, us jīvana se jo bhakti ke pahle un ke pās thā, in dono jīvana me koī tulanā to jo ab un kā jīvana hai vo to ab Unka Jivanhe Wo So

Third reason of tasting love through sharing

That's the second reason why Caitanya Mahāprabhu came.

First reason is to give something which is unachievable and to give us this goal, second reason is to somehow or other to compensate for this for his fault of miserliness.

And the third reason is very, very important, extremely important for us to understand what Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu has given.

It is said, Tadani Tadaswadanam Tattva Prakashanaya, to show to the people of this world very important truths: Tattva Prakashanayat. That you can only taste love if you give this love to others.

There's no other way to taste or to achieve the taste of love if you're not giving it to others. Uh is prakar say uhne deke chatanya mahaprabhu aneke pele na chate jo uprapya

pele, a Dusra Karan Heke Bhagwan Hame Jo Unelagata, Uskele Hame Bapas Purti Karneke Levi, or Jo Tisra Karan Hai,

Mi Hamarle Samajele Bohati Mahatvapoon Hejo Bhagwan Chatani Mahaprabhu Ay, who is Jagatke Logonko, A Jo Mahatvapun Tatvahe, Tatva Prakashanaya, Wo Dene Kiliai orunone kahakarhame is praem the aswan karna

he, the what Tabi Samba Hoga Jabhame Prem Dusroko Batenghe, is praem ko aswadan karne keli or poi tarika nahe andyata is a dusroko Śrīla

Jivagaswami says that let's say somebody is cooking a very nice feast and after cooking this very nice feast he sits and eats this feast alone. Will he have a taste of this feast or not?

And he gives another example: if somebody is cooking a very big feast and he invites everyone and he gives this feast to others. Then he enjoys, everyone else enjoys.

And he says that this is the only way to enjoy this amazing meal of love just by giving it to others.

Bhatate hai, k soch rikine bohat at chi dawat kele pakaya hai, orbo bat me akele batke ustawat yanya wanjano ku kata hai, a to kyya use swa dayaga uus kanega nahi Anand Prabhupada Duseby Anand Prabharthe.

So Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī says then when Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu came, he invited everyone to share to this feast of love.

He uh Śrīla Prabhupāda when, he came to America, he made this tradition feast of love or love feast on Sundays. So that's originally coming from Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. And what does it mean, feast of love?

You invite everyone. You invite, you know, any passerbys.

Please come, please come, please take part in it. And this is the way to enjoy love. And the one who is enjoying the most is the one who is giving the most. So, we have to unone bi parampara vaha shruki juraviarketh, yepyarka

tyha, feast of love. To y chatanya mahaprabhu se yara hai. To ye pyarka tohar ky Koyharohara Kyahe, is me Sabiko Amantrit Kij. Koibi rahir Vyaktijo Chal Rahe Usko Boli Kripya Ay,

Kripya Aye, Ahke, a Yahapan is Yohar me bhadli jie.

Fourth reason of revealing Radharani's nature

To yehi Tariqa So The fourth reason which Śrī Jīva Gosvāmī explains by explaining this verse anarpitacari-ciram what Śrī Caitanya Mahaprabhu is giving, which was not given before. The fourth reason is very, very important.

He says, prāyiṣo mahābhāva-svarūpā śrī-rādhikā-tattva-jñāpanāya. It says he comes here to this world to make known the nature of His priyā, His beloved Śrī Rādhikā, Who is the very form of Mahabhava?

He is, in other words, he is explaining the nature of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, which was not known uh to anyone before Śrī Caitanya Mahaprabhu uh to chota karanhe Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu anika shiva kosmoskiakate So,

I think that's two hedge of pale, nahi party gaiti, palet, nahi digaiti, andahaprabhu ya hapar attehes Jagatme, a Sapko Unki Priya, Sri Radika Kebare me Avgat Karane Kelia,

Unkeb Havke Bareme Avgat Karanekilia, Joswayam Mahabha Kaprati Bimbhe, Tovo Unke Even Krishna that Krishna is the Swayambhagavan is a very confidential truth.

We know that uh practically uh Nobody knew this before Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

There were so many devotees who were worshipping Lord Vishnu, Lord Narayana, and they were thinking that Krishna is just one avatar of Lord Vishnu Lord Narayana.

It's Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who came and who pointed out this very beautiful verse from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam, indrāri-vyākulaṁ lokaṁ mṛḍayanti gṛhe gṛhe. Very clear verse.

So even this was not known before Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. What to speak about the nature of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, what to speak about uh the nature of your love uh who is she uh to jah uh uh finkahajara maraji batara uh

key Krishna Swayamhagwan Ye Bhatbi Bohat Kopnia Tatvahe, Yebi Ham Dekte Hekele Kisiko Yebhat Nahi Patati, Chatanya Mahaprabhu Keya Anike Pele Ame Srimad Bhagavatam K is Bahot Sundar Shlokse Agat Karaya Krishnas to

Bhagwans Pasht Karthi, Chatanya Mahaprabhu anek Pele, Yekisiko Patanahiti, Ye Patanahiti, Srimati Radaranike Pauke Bareme to Kuchbinahi Patata unkepreme kevarme vokon evi bate nahipatati It's it's really amazing

if we think about it: that how such a confidential truth which is not known to anyone, still not known, still hardly known to the traditional people, is given so freely to mlecchas and yavanas.

And here I am, you know, born in Russia speaking about Mahabhava Svarupa Srimati Radharani to you. Isn't it amazing? This is the proof that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is the most merciful avatar that ever was there.

Ki itni a gopniya satya ki bate jokishiko pehle pata nahi jo padam parik bhaktioko ye bate nahi pata ti a bohot asani se mlecha or yavanoke beachme sabiko patahe marajerahe Yahaparmehu, Jomirajanam Rusmehuatha, or Ajme Absapke Beachme, Mahabha Swaru Srimati Radharani ke Vishme Kathaka Rahu, Jaye Adbut Mahihe, Yeah is Batka Pramanhe, ishi Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Sabse Kripalu Avtar hai or Ulki Tara Kripalu koyor avtara nahingwai.

So this is the fourth reason of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to appear. He wanted to reveal the extent of Srimati Radharani's love, and at the same time, he wanted to reveal this Vrindavan Dham.

We all know that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, one of his missions, was to reestablish the glory of Sri Vrindavan Dham because this is the only Dham where the love rules supreme.

He is explaining, not explaining, he's showing by his own example this amazing manifestation of the love of Srimati Radharani, that there's nothing higher than this.

He came not just to give the theory, he is showing in a very practical way how even little drop of this love can completely overwhelm a human being and

Fifth reason of tasting supreme love directly

completely drown someone in this ocean of bliss Vifir ad Agehame Dikaraehe, Samjanahidah, Dikharae, Kikitna Adbut Premka Prasarhe, Srimati Radharanjika, to ye ame kewal yehame Sid Shraddha Nahi Satme, Hame Shraddha, Keval Siddhanta Nahi, Hame ek Vyaktiga troops samjara h Srimati Radika ke prem ki ekbund uhme uh ek sagarme anand ke Duba Saktia.

And then the fifth reason, and I think that will be uh the last in our uh little description of this verse, there are ten reasons altogether, but the fifth reason is also very important.

Tatprema mahima tattva tat aswadaya to taste he comes himself and the previous reasons the previous reasons were for everyone else but Okay. Sorry for the interruption, please. Yes.

But in the fifth reason he says he comes here Tatprema Mahima Tattva Tattasvadaya. He comes himself to taste this greatness of her love. Tatprema mahima tattva tattasvadaya.

To Jo abi ham panchvaka or shayati akri karan hoga a chamari kathame, ambi panchvakaran de King, Kung Chatanya Mahaprabhu Yay, uh to thus Karan Hekul Milakar Jesse Manipele Kaha, Parantuye Panchvakaran Bipohat Mahatva Punhe, or Yeh is she chatanya mahaprabhu isprame ka aswadan

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. He explains that this is the reason why Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is called in this verse Hari. Hari means somebody who takes away, somebody who steals. So Chaitanya Mahaprabhu he gives.

He is Audary Avatar, he is coming to give, but why he he is called Hari? It is very clear why Krishna is called Hari. He was always stealing something: either yogurt, or butter, or clothes, or hearts.

But Shichitani Mahaprabhu comes to give why he is still called Hari in this verse. Kabi Mastra Churale Tehe, Kabi Hamare Ride Churaletehe, Parantus Mahaprabhu Yahahame Dene Aihe, to Kun kokyu Hari Kahajara.

And Silajiva Gaswami explains that he's called Hari in this verse because he's also a thief. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.

He is stealing Radha Bhava, he's stealing Radha Slav to enjoy it and to show how the taste of this slough is the greatest taste

Significance of appearing during lunar eclipse

Jivagaswami, this this will be the last thing which I will explain. He explains in this commentary the confidential meaning why Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appears during lunar eclipse during Chandra Grahana.

So Shridakiva Koswami ya samjate he akri varnan hoga jomeajapki bichme karraho to voice tikame samjate he He says that what's happening during uh lunar eclipse.

During lunar eclipse this beautiful moon the effulgence of the beautiful moon is being eclipsed by this black planet of Rahu. So he says that what is going on, please listen very carefully. It's very interesting.

Yato Haratisvabava Kanti Vilasah, Sri Krishnasia, Chitam, Iha Punar, Varna, Dehadikam, Hritva, Swaswabam, Tamkaroti, Yasa Radha Iti Artha. He says that Radha steals Krishna's heart by her gestures, complexion, and nature.

After taking away his complexion and body, she makes him adopt her own nature. That is Radha. Therefore she is called in Hare Krishna mantra Hara. She is stealing.

She is stealing by her gestures, her complexion and her nature, he takes away complexion and body of Krishna.

And in this way, you know, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, even though he is Krishna himself, he takes the complexion and uh and uh uh even the appearance of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. Kale Graha Rahudwara.

Apne Swabhawse or Jabwe Unka Rang or

Shari Churale Ti and to Jo Apna Swabha Unko de Tian Isle Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī ko Harikrishna Mahaman Krame Haraka Hajata, Kejo Apne Isharo, Apne Rang, Apne Swabauja Dwara, Krishna Kara Rang, Krishna Kha Shari, Churale Ti,

or Isli Chatanya Mahaprabhu, Jo Swayam Krishna He Firbi Unka Jo Rang or Rupe or Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī tāra. Krishna means the uh one who attracts so one who uh really gets something.

So Krishna he comes to Śrīmatī Rādhikā and he attracts her own bhava, her own effulgence, and in this way takes it uh upon his own nature and becomes Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Therefore he is called Hari.

Or Unke Bhauko Acker Shit Kartehe Unke Swabhau Acker Shit Kartehe, Unke Techko Akar Shit Kartehe, or Wo Sri Chatana Mahaprabhu Bajate, Sri Chatana So that's Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Avatar.

He comes with this feeling of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī and he enjoys this feeling of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, this uh amazing love of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī by giving it to others without any discrimination. That's the meaning of Sri Chaitanya Avatar, which we are about to celebrate within one week or so.

So we should again and again meditate on this verse, an Arpitacharimchirat, to really try to understand the extent of our fortune.

And of course, Śrīla Prabhupāda as the general of the army of Caitanya Mahāprabhu, Mahaprabhu, he came to give it to us.

And because of his mercy we are able to speak about this and we are able to celebrate this festival of love. And the whole Iskon movement is basically a big

celebration of this appearance of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. We celebrate his appearance day once a year, but actually every day while we're chanting Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna, Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare, we're celebrating his appearance in our lives

uh uh to Yahapad Maharaji Agepatare uh K yejo

you very much. You're wonderful translator. You're translating everything so exactly. Thank you very much. I guess now time is over. Uh thank you very, very much.

so beautiful and you know I think we want to have one more session to cover the other four aspects but then you know this thing that you gave us each one look one better than the other

so thank you very very much for your presence there are some questions before that Namkishhaw йах со Прабху джи не йе каха ке аж ка виш бохати ад бхуд ут ам авиша ме орь

So Maharaj, there are a few questions in the chat box and I would like to just

Approaching Krishna through Chaitanya Mahaprabhu

ask you a few. In Kali Yuga, effective preacher So йах, Кришна я марат се я прашна хай ух кальюг ме джо хамара прачар худ

preaching the glory of Krishna and the glory of Srimad Bhagavatam, but at the same time we have to make it very very clear that to understand Krishna one first have to develop a very strong service mood towards Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Otherwise, if you try to understand Krishna, like oftentimes Prakriti Sahaja, they are speaking about Krishna, only about Krishna, kind of forgetting Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

But to get access to the moods of Vrindavana, to the moods of Krishna, to the moods of Sri Chaitanya of Sri Mati Radharani, one first has to approach through Sri Chaitanya Mahprabhu. Through the service mood to the mission of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu by trying to serve his preaching mission. And by the means of preaching the glories of Sri Chaitanya Prabhu, we will be able to understand Krishna.

Otherwise there is no possibility to understand Krishna. Krishna will remain very remote from us.

To Maharaj Yampar uh Uttar Vera Side he Krishna Kosama prayas karing to Nahi Hoga, which says Sajya Kabikarte, make Krishna K Vishame Bhat Kartehe, Parantusri Chatanya Mahaprabhu Kobul Jatehe, Parantu Agarham, Sampar Karnahev Rindavan Ao say Srimati Radharani Kakyab Haue Samajna he chhatanya Mahaprabhuke Matyam se jana hoga, Jiska Arth he chatanya mahaprabhukile sevab how katnahoga, unkies prachar andolan Messeva Karna Hoga, Unki Mahimaka Gunga and Karna Hoga, Tabham Krishna Kosamach Pinege, Varna Krishna Kosamach Pana Hamse Bohot tour Kivastuhi Rejay.

So we are uh trying to give people Krishna, but we also uh know that the only way for people to get Krishna is through Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Therefore it's not either or. We are uh we are Krishna centered for sure,

uh but Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu being non-different from Krishna is our uh greatest aid uh to understand Krishna and there is no other way to understand Krishna outside of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and his mission.

Cable Sweet Chatana Mahaprabhu Kmadiam said desakte or tariqana. Krishna Kendritha, but chatanya mahaprabhu, Jo Krishna say Abin How Hamari subsebari sahita karinge Krishna ke Vishame Samajany or Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu or Unky Lakshya ke Bahar Krishna ku samajna samhavnaya.

So Maharaj, just a follow-up question from me that is associated with this, is there are so many who worship Krishna from the other sampradayas and can we also say that you know that is okay?

Different perspectives on worshipping Krishna

And they will also eventually come to the uh point of understanding in the mood of Lord Chaitanya if we give them the opportunity, how should we tackle those who are from the other sampradayas also here?

So Srivallapoji Kera uh, Prashnah. Uh Kelly, Jobik Shiva Kartehem, Parante Duswe Sampraday or Seh. So Kya ye Sahih, Akyaham Samje, Kevy, Age Chalke, Sri Chatani Mahaprabhu Ki Havana She Krish There are so many Krishna's.

Krishna is not one. There is Krishna in Dwaraka, there is Krishna in Madhura, there is Krishna in Vrindavan. And even in Vrindavan there are different Krishna.

So people they definitely worship Krishna, but it's not so clear which Krishna they worship. They may be worshipping different Krishna.

Like sometimes people worship Krishna, who is married with Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. And definitely there is Krishna who is married with Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī.

It's described in Brahma Vaivarta Purana the marriage that you know Chaturmukha Brahma was the priest and everything else. So they also worshipping Krishna, but it's a different Krishna whom they worship.

Then the Krishna who is the ista Devota which Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu came to give to us.

Prakarki Krishna hai, Kaval e Krishnai, Dwarka Mek Krishna hair, Matura Mekrishnah, Vrindavan Mekrishnah, to Brindavan may be Anya Krishna hekti Krishna ki upasnaka Darani Kisa Puah, oriska Varnan Brahma Vivata Puranme he, or Yebi Bataya Gayahe Kitchaturmuk Brahma Unka Viva Karvayata. Pasnakarrai ha butus Krishna say dinnahe Jo Ish to Devki Rukmay Chatanya Mahaprabhu Jinkohamed.

In the beginning it's very good, you know, in the beginning stages it's very good. We just worship Krishna. We are not very clear which Krishna we worship. We we just worship Krishna.

But when we advance further and further, when we go this narrow path of spiritual life following Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, we will understand that ultimately this path which Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu has given is bringing us to this kunjas of Vrindavan where there is Parakia Rasis going on on the banks of river Yamuna.

So, and it's it's different. We respect other people who worship Krishna. We are very happy that people worship Krishna.

But at the same time, we as followers of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu want to achieve a specific form of Krishna which is not achievable anywhere else.

Uh so Yahapur uh Maharaj Age Bhataraya Suruatme Achahekyam Krishna Kiupasnakarae Binay Sochehue Kivokonsa Krishna Hai Who It Nas Pashnay Ham Kiva Parant to Jesse Agya Agya Bhattha Hamari Pragati Hogy, Jabham is Sankara Path, Rustes Chalanga, Jushettanya Mahaprabhu diahe. Toham Antataha ye Samaj Painge, K yejo Rasta Heshi Chatani Mahaprabhuka, Yihame Brindavan Kekme Le Jaharahe, Yamuna Nadi Ketpar, Jaha Parakia Ras Stith, to ye Bhaki Jovyakti Krishna kiupasnakarnehe use dinah, to Ham Prasanhai ki dusve yakti bikrishnaki upasnakarna, Frantuske sat sat, Ham Joshi Chatanya Mahaprabhuya Nuyaihe, Boek, Vishesh, Ksna Ruk, Ti praptikana chathe, Jokkahi oru club So Shivalabhrabhu said that uh whether other people who follow this path of Krishna ultimately will come to this concept of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

It's possible, but the uh different phenomenon is also possible.

Sometimes people follow Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu initially, but then they realize that you know this is too high what he is giving. And it's better to go somewhere in a safer place with some other sampradaya.

I've seen this phenomenon also. People start as Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's followers and they go somewhere else without being able to appreciate the beauty of this

concept which Caitanya Mahāprabhu gave. Ah to Age Maharaj Kerai Ke Shivala Prabhuji ne kahata ke kyesa hotahe aju duse sapradaime Krishna ki Upasna Karehe who Antataha Sri Chatanya Mahaprabhu uh Keta Vichar Meaja, to Maraj Nekaha Kabika be asa hota hai,

like it manes a viprit katna bi deki hai lok shuruat Amad letcha hogar hapu y or southjah or with two sweet samprada was churjate hen.

Who shuru zarul hotehri chatanya mahaprabhu kyai banka butan to fair bad me kahi or chale jate henkup

Rūpa Gosvāmī explains that if somebody follows this path of Śrī Caitanya Mahaprabhu but he commits offenses, then the degree of intimacy of relationship with the Supreme Lord may become less and less and less depending on the gravity of offenses.

And he will take shelter in some other more remote relationship with the Supreme Lord, which uh which is given in other sampradayas and in other schools uh

Perfection levels across various traditions

to ag Sri Larupa Goswami Hame Pat Samjate Hai, Y Agarkoy Sri Chatanya Mahaprabhu Batay Gai, Markpa Chaltahahe, Likin Mokoi Aprad Karnelaktahe. Unka Jo Sambanthe Phagwanki Sant, uh Sambantka, Utire Tide or Kamhone Lajati, Unkeaprat kitne gambir huske hisabse, or fairmo Bhagwan say duri durast vishe uh duras samband uh banane lakta he du sre sabradayaume prahmthuta.

There is one question that's associated, I'm just uh simplifying the question to say will those

who are also going through the other part will they also get perfections but will they will possibly get some level of perfection but will not achieve at the full level of prema.

So Agi Eko Prashana haired the Maraji Jodhre Margopechal Raihe kyavebi Puna Siddi prapt karenge, ya esa hoga kevo pre Yeah,

there are different grades of perfection, and uh definitely if people very sincerely uh and uh honestly follow the path which is described by other teachers, they will achieve some level of perfection, but not necessarily the highest level of perfection.

But definitely the spiritual world is a very big place. There is place for everyone with different Baalas.

If you become pure, then you will have your place in the spiritual world but uh there is a very unique destination which Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu came to give to us and uh that's very rare.

Anarpita-carīṁ ciraāt karuṇayāvatīrṇaḥ kalau samarpayitum unnatojjvala-rasāṁ sva-bhakti-śriyaṁ, this glowing or very effulgent Valarasam Swabhakti Sriyam, this glowing or very effulgent sva-bhakti-śriyaṁ love towards himself,

uh which is Sriam, which is very effulgent, uh which is you know which is great wealth.

So he came to give this great wealth, and you know we are we can inherit this great wealth, but others they also achieve perfection, no doubt about it. What kind of perfection that remains to be seen? You know.

And we should be humble. We should not be looking down to other people and saying you are wrong or this or that. You know, they're achieving perfection if they're honest.

But we are following our path because Chaitanya Mahaprabhu gave us this atyanta agati gati, amazingly unachievable goal which he made achievable to us.

Dusre Pathopachalra, Jo Dusre Adia Mik Shikshakone Bataya hai, Kuchna kuch tari keki si beone zaru praft hogi, butan two ye subse uttam nahi hogi, are they at mix the got poti uh we shall Stanhem, Has Sabkele, Koinakoi Jagahhe, Alagalak Bhawame Vaktih, Sabikele Jagahe, Agarap Shud Hong, Topku Zaru Wana extantaphoga. Paratu vo stan, wo Adwitiya Gantaviya Nayhoga Shaya Jo Chatanya Mahaprabhu Bhat, U Bohat Diptimanhe, a Swabhapti Shriam, Jo Abneprati Premhai, Shriam, Bohat Dipti Manhattan A yes subse bada dhanhe, Ju Chatanya Mahaprabhu Denea, Am is Dhanko Virasatne Prapt Kansaktehan, a Dusrebbi Siddhi Prap Karsaktihan, Lekin Kisprakati Siddhi me Prapt Karenge, Yehame Dekna Hoga, Paranto e Pat to Heke Hame Vinamra Rana Hoga, Ame in Duswe Logoko Nichenhe Deknachayam said comehe.

Agar vibi matar, atovebi isipraka ki si ruled pra Maharaj, uh if I can just take another two minutes for just one last question. Okay.

Overcoming conditioning through devotional service

And this is um Govindanandaprabhu.

Hare Krishna Maharaj, material conditioning is so strong that when sincerely we try to surpass material conditions, it's more rebelling and sometimes feel that we are not doing justice to both practice material and spiritual life.

So how to tackle the situation and where to draw the line to justify.

Prashna hai uhri prashnaheshivala prabujina kaha, though Govinandan Prabhu Kera Kabi Hamari Hamari Bottic Bandhan Itne Prakar say Gambir hai ki agarham adyatmik jagat me age barna chahe to ye withdraw kartehe.

Kabika bi esa laktahe hame keham nyay nahi karparaehe, hotik jivan ke pratibi nyay na hiorahe or adhyatmik jivan ke pratibi nyay na hiorahe.

So you came to save the most fallen, and I'm the most fallen. Please help me the first.

This is what Naratam Dastakur sais ven vi look inside we see that we are very fallen. There's no doubt about it. But it should be the incentive for us, the impetus to become hopeful, because since we are fallen, so we have a claim here, we have some right.

I'm fallen, so please take me into consideration. Ultimately, yes, you're right. Our material conditioning is very, very deep. There's no doubt about it. But still the mercy of Caitanya Mahāprabhu is even deeper.

So he can approve our deep conditioning by his mercy. The only thing which we should do is try to serve, somehow or other to serve, to serve Śrīla Prabhupāda, to serve Caitanya Mahāprabhu.

And by this service mood, ultimately we will be able to overcome by the mercy of Caitanya Mahāprabhu all our material problems.

Maharaj, thank you very much for being here with us. It was so nice to connect with you after a long time.

And I know that we have connected occasionally when you've been giving classes from Mathura and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Bhagavatam. But Maharaj, thank you very much for being here with us on the shloka.

So very you analyzed it so wonderfully for us. And I also thank Nan Kishwar for uh almost you know, I have to also thank you today. Perfect word to word translation. Thank you.

And Maharaj was saying it in English and Nan Kishwar was again repeating it verbatim in Hindi. It was doubly impressing upon us. Thank you very much.

Yeah, I also want to thank Nanda Kisor for this translation. It's amazing translation. I've never had such a good translation in my life. I perfect. Thank you very much. I could rely on you completely.
